Camp Program
The Hiram House camp program makes use of the natural environment as much as possible. Most program activities are developed around the natural features of the camp. Activities which can easily be provided at home are kept to a minimum. Special activities such as swimming, archery, and boating are pre-scheduled. The balance of the camp program maintains flexibility by camper groups being encouraged to help plan some of their own activities. Theme days and special all-camp events round out the schedule.

Supervision
Our program staff is under the supervision of a qualified director and maintains
a
6:1 ratio for Summer Junior Day Camp and and 8:1 ratio for Summer Day
Camp
and Summer Resident Camp. Summer staff consists mainly of college and senior high school students with experience and interest in child development who are required to participate in an intensive 5-day in-residence training program. Group counselors supervise and lead each camper group. Specialists guide activities such as archery and arts & crafts. Each year, many universities and high schools are represented by camp staff.

Medical Examination
In order to attend camp, each camper must be certified by the school nurse or doctor within the past 12 months. The complete medical form must be in the camp office two weeks prior to the camper's first day at camp.

Camp Store
A detailed list of camp store items will be sent upon registration. Campers visit the camp store at regularly scheduled times throughout the session. We ask that you send a specified amount of camp store money along with your fees. These funds will be put into an account for your child at the camp store. No camper should bring money with them to camp.

Philosophy
Hiram House Camp aims to give children a healthy wholesome, stimulating experience in the out-of-door through living, playing, and cooperating in the beautiful environment of our natural woods. Camp aims to give children an appreciation of the American way of life by actually introducing campers to some of the experiences of our ancestors, such as outdoor skills. At camp, we have character building through participation.
